Activision Blizzard, the studio of game maker Call of Duty, was sued by the Humvee military vehicle maker. The game studio was accused of violating the Humvee trademark.
The lawsuit was filed by AM General as the Humvee brand holder through a court in Manhattan this week. Humvee feels Activision Bizzard takes advantage by exploiting the reputation of its trademark without permission.
According to AM General, what is done by Activision Blizzard makes an impression as if it supports and officially involved in making the game Call of Duty. In fact, AM General claimed to be not involved at all, giving permission presence Humvee in the game was not.
Humvee car itself does not appear in the latest Call of Duty game, namely WWII. The car appeared in the game Call of Duty output in 2007, namely Modern Warfare. Humvee cars also appear in the game Call of Duty: Black Ops II (2012) and Call of Duty: Ghost (2013),
On this allegation, AM General requested compensation and compensation on Activision. But until now there is no information about the nominal requested.
