Hundreds of ISIS members who are victims of anti-terrorist wars have been almost a year stored in refrigerated containers in the Libyan city of Misrata.

About 700 bodies have been placed in 'morgue improvisation' since December 2016, when ISIS was expelled from the coastal city of Sirte, their fortress in Libya.

"The temperature of the containers should be maintained between temperatures of -18 to -20 centigrade to keep the body preserved," said Ali Tuwaileb in charge of the facility.

After almost a year, the existing facilities began to be inadequate. In the place was also checked by a forensic doctor.

"As we can see, we do not have adequate means, here we also take samples for DNA tests and also photographs of dead bodies," added Tuwaileb.

Due to resource constraints, hundreds of other corpses were left behind in ruins in Sirte and others were buried.

Post-combat launched by US-led coalition forces, many bodies on the streets of Sirte, raising fears of an epidemic.

According to Tuwaileb estimates, between 1,500 and 2,000 bodies are buried in the Mediterranean city.

"We do not have enough room to keep all the bodies and it is not possible to bury them all."

It said Tuwaelib, the container was borrowed from a number of private companies. From the beginning of seven containers, three of them have been damaged.

Problems also arise during summer or when there is a power outage.

"We must always be ready to refuel regularly," he told AFP.

Files of hundreds of bodies have also been sent to the attorney general's office in Tripoli. Waiting for a decision when and where the body will be buried.

According to Tuwaileb, from documents found with the bodies, most of the bodies came from Tunisia, Egypt and Sudan. But almost no family came to claim them.
